We are so proud that we got to play at The Birmingham International Tattoo again for the third consecutive year running. It was a special this year because our cadets marched alongside the main corps and then marched on for the mass bands. It all started on Saturday morning 29th November. Everybody was excited because we were going to the NIA again. This event is also our banding highlight of the year. I mean what other way to send off the year in style and by doing that at the Birmingham Tattoo!
On the Saturday we were the beginning band, entertaining people as they took their seats to get ready for the show. Everybody was nervous as you can imagine - we never play to this amount of people! However we should be used to it - but every year we all feel it like its our first time all over again! And we get to do this for 2 days!
It has been a year to remember this year because half of our brass now want to take up the bagpipes, our guard want the old war boys to join guard and we even have the RAF Cosford gun team wanting to play brass instruments, and even loaning a trumpet for one of our little trumpet players because her trumpet broke at the last minute! It has been a very memorable year to say the least.
All our hard work and dedication has once again paid off for us! We are a band who is growing in strength, and who are growing in confidence!
We could not be more proud of the fact that once again a little band in Coseley got to perform their production of 'Way out west' to the paying public at The Birmingham International Tattoo!
Well done all!
