So we had our first show of the season and it was so good to get a show that was decent and well enjoyed. It was also a pleasure to see all our cadets marching alongside us for their first show too. As you can imagine it was rough - but we pulled together and got a show out there where we showed fun and showed enthusiasm. A show we knew it would get better as the season went on. We set a target for this show and we knew we could smash this quite easily - considering half of our members and was under 15 and this was their first show. We started the day quite early because the staff wanted to get there early was we could have a run through so we knew what was what, whether people needed extra help/support, this was the time to ask questions. We had enough time to have 2 run through's on the local park and it was time to hop back on the coach and get ready to go on the field and showcase out 2014 production - way out west.
We had a good show considering it was the first time we performed it. Everybody enjoyed and to have people coming off smiling, we knew we beaten our target the staff set us the day before.
At this show it was the show where BYBA did a competition for the best selfie! We thought of something that no other bands ever thought of. There were people running to the front taking pictures with everybody in, people getting the crowd in the picture as a background - it was a pleasure to watch. Our selfie was with our good friends at Stafford - Stafford Brigades. We had a joint selfie half comets and half brigades, to be honest we didn't think much of it because of the much longed delay we had for the results to come to the front. We started the conga! Loads of bands got involved. We went mad which was nice because people could see we mean much more than playing and marching - we have fun!
It was time for the results of the first show.
Comets - 44.60, YES! We beaten our target of 42! Get in! We were happy banding people! To top of the day we even won the best selfie with Stafford!
