Following the sombre commemorations of Remembrance Sunday last week, The Coseley Comets once again demonstrated their versatility by performing at the switching on of the Dudley Town Centre Christmas Lights on 14th November....
In what turned out to be a very trying day due to the adverse weather conditions, the band performed twice during the afternoon. 3.15pm saw the band perform in the Churchill Precinct next to Iceland, and this was swiftly followed by an appearance on the main stage in Stone Street at 4pm. The lights were then switched on at 5pm in the Market Place.
The band now have a varied repertoire of Christmas Carols and it were these carols that were performed on the day
Steve Poole, Secretary of The Coseley Comets said ‘The band see this as an important part of the community calendar where we give something back to the community of Dudley and The Black Country. Due to the adverse weather conditions the crowds were not as plentiful as in recent years. However the youngsters were given a great reception from the watching audience, particularly in the Churchill precinct where we were under cover. The band really enjoyed playing on the day and hope that we shall be there in 2016
