Tonight seen us take the stage to showcase our 2014 production once again to our local community. We took the stage with other groups of people to put on a show, and to showcase what the band is all about. It was also a very big night for the corps as we decided to showcase our little teaser of our 2015 production. Overall we have to thank the church for inviting us to perform and sharing the stage with some inspiring people. The crowd participation was second to none and we are so lucky to be so involved in this amazing community!
Yet again, it proved that Coseley did certainly have talent and that was shown at our awards night mixed in with Coseley has got talent.
The night started with our percussion hitting it down hard - a big well done to our little cadets in the percussion who yet again showed that they improving and did a fantastic job. Another well done to Matthew who put the musical piece together. The percussion section showed that anyone can hit a drum - as long as you showed fun it certainly did not matter! Well Done Percussion! We are proud to call you all Comets.
The percussion was followed by our little guard. Livvy and Jazzy certainly did themselves proud indeed! They showed how committed and how much they have improved since they have started their banding journey. They danced away to Olly Murs - Dear Darling. They choreographed the whole routine with no help off anyone - and they certainly got the crowd! Well Done Girls! We are proud to call you both Comets.
The Cadets and the Cadet staff followed the two girls and it was certainly entertaining to say the least! The Cadets wanted to do something that was fun and entertaining, and we are sure it was just that! They danced away to Grease - You're The One That I Want. They all did their selves proud - especially the boys who said they couldn't dance or act etc - they proved they could on the night, so Well Done Boys! Well Done to all the Cadets and The Cadet staff! We are proud to call you all Comets.
The break followed after The Cadets, and we were given the verdicts on who won the trophies that were on offer. The best bands person went to Emily Williamson (This award was voted by the band members). The Staff bands person went to Brendon Perry (This award was voted by the staff). The presidents award went to Ruth Poole (This award is from the president of the band - Geoff Bailey and he has the say who he thinks he should get the award). Another person who received some accreditation was Chris Morris fro her commitment and dedication to the band over the years.
After the break, the older guard gave the audience a routine that was very well thought and choreographed. They danced to John Legend - All of me. They gave everything for their performance and it sure showed when they was given the applause at the end of their routine. Well done girls! We are proud to call you girls Comets.
The brass followed on after the girls and our little guys in brass also came and played with the older guys on the section. The brass kicked off with Agudoo and then played magnificent seven. They did their selves proud and the little ones on the section did very very well too! Well done guys! We are proud to call you all Comets!
After the brass it was the main event of the night. It was the turn for the mommies of the band. They did their dancing to the Hey Micky! They showed everyone that they can dance - to some extent! But they certainly showed everybody that they are up for a laugh and they don't care, they was up for laugh! And believe us they certainly gave people some laughs!
The next Coseley has got talent is the 6th February 2016 - Be there and join in the fun!
